Hunger Games Apple Scene

Watch the scene in which Katniss shoots an arrow into the apple in the pig's mouth during the Gamemakers' feast.  What was the motive behind her actions?  How did this bold act of rebellion affect her in regards to the Hunger Games?  In other words, did shooting the arrow into the apple help or hinder her chances in the games?

  2. Katniss' motive was the fact that she was tired of being ignored by the people who decide her future so she gave them a reason to look. The bold act effected the games makers because they saw her act as being brave and they can use that in the games for better entertainment. Yes shooting the apple through the pigs mouth helped her chances in the games because her score was higher and she got more sponsers.

  3. In think the motive was to show how good she was and that if or when she got a bow she could be a serious competitor in the game. The bold actions made her get a good score which would help her get sponsors. Shooting the arrow threw the apple actually helped her in the games.

She was mad because no one was watching her shooting the arrows they were eating instead. It made them give her a high score and gave her some confidence and some momentum. Shooting the arrow into the apple was a big help.
