Government Control: Inside North Korea

After watching the documentary Inside North Korea, what comparisons can you make between the North Korean government and the Capitol of Panem in the Hunger Games?

  1. This book is a great example of what would happen if the government tried to take over everything we do. The book whether it be this book or the 2nd or 3rd book will only end 1 way. What do you think will happen at the end of this book? Who will win the hunger games? What will happen with peta and katniss later in the book?

  2. Some comparisons I can make is that they are both about the problem of hunger such as District 12 and the forgotten generation and they have a fence where they can't escape the place and it is electrified.

  3. Control over the capital seems like a constant threat thoughout the hunger games, such as the electric fence around district 12 and the government controling electricity, how much food people can buy, and who can enter and leave the districts. The government also conducts the hunger games to show people that they are still in control of panem and not to rebel again. Another example of showing that the government is still in control is district 13 and how the capital completly obliterated it, killing everyone in it. The government did this to tell the other districts that what happend to district 13 will happen to the other districts if they decide to rebel.

  5. Both the North Korean government and The Capitol of Panem are basically the same. Both control how much food the public gets, where people can travel and they have to respect their leader or they will get punished. In North Korea there are people starving just like in Panem, the government controls there food supplies. Just like in Panem they have gates surrounding each area. Also if anyone here’s someone disrespect there leader they will get punished. The differences between these to that I can think of is North Korea is a real country and Panem is made up…

  7. The similarities in this documentary and the hunger games is that there fenced in like animals, they can’t go anywhere they are forced to stay in a concealed area. Also they are limited on what the can eat because of being so poor the government or great leader in this case has all the food he could want but doesn’t care for his people very well. They both get brutal punishments for even the simplest things done wrong.

  8. The comparison that I made between the Capitol and North Korea was that the government has made the countries believe that the way they are running is the best way and they should just go along with it and bow down to the leader. They also control what they can and can’t do. They run most of what the people in the county does. Neither of the countries care about what happens to teh people that live there they just care about themselves.

  9. The Hunger Games And the document of the Inside of North Korea is the same in a lot of ways. For example They have the same type of government because they both have only one ruler. If you do something that’s against the ruler they will punish you. They both don’t care about their people except for the ones that are important in rich. They have a lot of poor people. You are force to be in something you don’t want to be in for the book it’s the huger games and for the document its sometimes the army.

  10. After watching the documentary Inside North Korea, what comparisons can you make between the North Korean government and the Capitol of Panem in the Hunger Games?
The governments have some of the same things in the government one thing is both places have cruel consequences like being killed and embarrassed in front of a crowd. Another common thing is that both places have a low amount of food.

  11. If you try to leave Panem they will try to sacrifice your life just like in North Korea you cannot leave there because you are controlled by a king.

  13. Korea has a very weird government to except people in Korea like their country not like people of Panem. Government pretty much control everything people do except breath. I bet Panem and Korea would merge to make a super country, and rule everyone under there fist.
